Q&A - Personal

What inspires you to compete?

The people I love and my goal to be one of the best.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

Of course! If I didn't, I wouldn't make it past the swim leg of a triathlon. Well, in the summertime I am able to double up on workouts. But, since I am teaching full-time now, I am not able to do that during the week. Let's see. Here's a general overview. I'll swim about 6,000 meters a week, bike 140-160 miles a week, and run about 25-30 miles a week. The biking mileage has been lower now since it is getting dark so soon! I cannot wait until the weather gets warm again.

Describe your style...

Silent but deadly (and not in the context that most of you understand!--haha)

Why do you compete?

It's a stress reliever. Also, I'm very competitive and enjoy beating people that are relatively at the same level as I am. I enjoy beating my male friends, as well. :)

Music?

Sure! (I just got a new iPod nano) Especially when I need that extra push during a long run (especially when I'm running by myself).
